About the Paws Up Travel Blog

Updated: Oct 6, 2019

You’re scrolling through your social media feed and you stumble upon a doggo gazing out on an oval window at 35,000 feet…. you think “how is that even pawsible?!”

We’ve developed this blog to guide you through the seemingly turbulent process of traveling and living life with your furry friend.

About me:

My name is Anthony and I am a consultant by day, but a permanent dog lover and travel enthusiast. I have flown on over 250 flights within the past few years and my Alaskan Klee Kai, Maya (@minihuskyy), accompanies me on the majority of my trips. She took to the skies at 12 weeks of age and has never looked back. A flight attendant once said, “Maya is a better traveler than 100% of the people on every flight (haha).” While this is undisputedly true, a lot of work went into ensuring we were ready for flying.

Not all dogs may be built for flying (or humans for that matter...), so in addition to providing pet travel tips, another goal of our blog is to inform you on how to live a dog-friendly life.

My girlfriend, Liz, and I started Maya's Instagram as a fun way for all the people we met while traveling to stay in touch with Maya. The account picked up speed and quickly became a passion of ours. The theme of our account naturally evolved into traveling, big city luxury living, and, of course, living life with your pet. We started receiving so many questions about how we live our lives with Maya, which is why we launched Paws Up Travel.

Now sit back, put your #pawsup, and enjoy the flight.
